Housed in a Grade II listed five-storey Victorian building, the Best Western Burns Hotel is located in a leafy square opposite the Earls Court Exhibition Centre, half a mile from Kensington Gardens and a mile from the V&A Museum. The 105 guestrooms provide garden or patio views, and feature light oak furniture and decor in blue and white. All are equipped with cable TV, wireless Internet (surcharge), and tea/coffee making facilities. Tiled bathrooms include hair dryers and complimentary toiletries.<BR> The hotel's Victorian interior has hints of Art Deco, with wood panelling, marble flooring and large mirrors in the lobby. The bar is decorated with blue tartan armchairs and portraits of actress Ellen Terry, who lived in the house at the turn of the 19th century. Club sandwiches, baguettes and jacket potatoes are served, and during warm weather guests can take drinks outside into the private walled garden. The casual Patio Restaurant occupies a long, narrow dining room with patio doors leading to the garden. Guests visiting on business can make use of a small meeting room, along with basic office services such as faxing, and stay connected via Internet access in the lobby (surcharge). Multilingual staff can offer advice on London's sights and attractions, and provide dry-cleaning and shoe-shine services. Valet parking is available for guests arriving by car. Kensington is best known for its palace and gardens, half a mile away, and for its major museums, including the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum, both within one mile of the hotel. The Albert Memorial, commissioned by Queen Victoria in the 19th century to commemorate her late husband, Prince Albert, is one mile away in Hyde Park. London Heathrow Airport is 14 miles away and can be reached by car in approximately 50 minutes.

| Driving Directions
The Heathrow Express train and black taxi cabs are available for transfer from the airport to the centre of London. The London Underground's Piccadilly Line also serves all Heathrow terminals and takes passengers into central London. The extensive London Underground system (the Tube) connects the hotel with the rest of central London within 20 minutes. The Underground station closest to the hotel is Earls Court. A wide choice of buses is also available. The hotel can order black taxi cabs on request. |
